Volkswagen has announced a recall affecting select units of the Taigun and Virtus models in India due to a concerning issue with faulty welding. A total of 52 vehicles, including 38 units of the Taigun and Virtus, as well as 14 units of the Kushaq and Slavia, are impacted. These vehicles were manufactured between November 29, 2023, and January 20, 2024, and the recall was officially registered on October 28, 2024.
The problem stems from a production irregularity at the component supplier’s end, specifically related to the track control arm. It is suspected that during the welding process, the weld seam may have been missed. If this component fails, it could lead to a sudden loss of vehicle control and stability, posing a serious safety risk for drivers and passengers alike.
While Volkswagen has not yet issued an official statement regarding the recall, it is expected that the company will reach out to owners of the affected vehicles to arrange for voluntary inspections and necessary repairs at authorized service centers. The recall process will be conducted free of charge, ensuring that all safety concerns are addressed promptly.
This recall highlights Volkswagen‘s commitment to safety and quality control in its manufacturing processes. As always, owners are encouraged to stay informed about any potential issues with their vehicles and to take action if they receive communication regarding recalls. The safety of drivers and passengers remains a top priority for Volkswagen as they work to resolve this issue efficiently.
